High-pressure washers are cleaning devices that use water at high pressure (typically 100 to 500 bar) to clean surfaces. The high pressure, combined with the volume of water, removes even stubborn dirt without the need for chemicals.
The main types are cold-water high-pressure cleaners for light soiling and general cleaning, hot water high-pressure cleaners (up to 155 °C) for oily and greasy contamination, steam cleaners for hygienic applications, stationary high-pressure systems for continuous industrial cleaning, and high-pressure robotic cleaners for automated tank and plant cleaning.
Common manufacturers include Kärcher (market leader), Nilfisk, Kränzle, Alto, Hako, Comet, Tennant, Dynajet, WAP and Mosmatic (nozzles and lances).
High-pressure cleaners are used in building cleaning, in car workshops and car washes, in industrial plants, in food production (HACCP-compliant), in agriculture, for façade and graffiti cleaning, as well as in swimming pools and municipal services.
