Textile machinery

Textile machinery comprises industrial machines for the manufacture, processing and finishing of textile products. Key areas include industrial sewing machines (single-needle, double-needle and multi-needle machines, as well as specialised machines for buttonholes and zips) and embroidery machines for logos and decorative features on clothing.

Weaving machines (shuttle, rapier and air-jet weaving machines) and knitting machines (circular and flat knitting machines) are used for fabric production. Cutting machines for textiles (cutting tables, multi-layer cutting systems, automatic CNC cutters) prepare the fabric pieces for garment production.

Leading manufacturers include Brother, Dürkopp Adler, JUKI, Pfaff Industrial, ZSK, Tajima, Barudan, Stoll, Shima Seiki and Lectra.

Textile machinery is used in clothing and fashion production, in the home and home textiles industry, in furniture upholstery, automotive interiors, technical textiles, as well as in embroidery and tailoring.
