Compressed air technology

Compressed air technology encompasses the generation, treatment and distribution of compressed air as a universal energy source in workshops, industry and the trades. Key components include screw compressors (speed-controlled or fixed-speed) for continuous operation, as well as piston compressors for mobile and smaller stationary applications.

Compressed air dryers (refrigeration and adsorption dryers), compressed air coolers and filters (pre-filters, microfilters, activated carbon filters) are used for treatment. Compressed air tanks store the generated air and balance out peaks in consumption. Pneumatic tools such as impact wrenches, drills and chisel hammers complete the range.

Leading manufacturers include Atlas Copco, Kaeser, BOGE, Ingersoll Rand, CompAir, Schneider Airsystems, Mattei, Almig, ABAC and FIAC.

Compressed air technology is used in automotive workshops, industrial production, construction, food processing, pneumatic machine control, and in paint and blasting facilities.
