Injection moulding machines

Injection moulding machines are the standard equipment used for the cost-effective mass production of plastic parts. Molten plastic is injected into a mould under high pressure, where it cools and is ejected as a finished part.

Classified by clamping force, models range from micro-injection moulding (5–100 kN) through standard machines (1,000–5,000 kN) to large machines (over 50,000 kN) for car parts or furniture components. A distinction is made between hydraulic, all-electric and hybrid drives.

Leading manufacturers include Arburg, ENGEL, KraussMaffei, Demag, Wittmann Battenfeld, Sumitomo (SHI) Demag, Haitian, JSW and Negri Bossi.

Injection moulding machines are used in the automotive supply industry, consumer goods production, packaging and medical technology, the electronics sector, toy manufacturing and for technical components.
