Labelling machines

Labelling machines automatically apply labels to packaging such as bottles, cans, cartons or pouches. They are a key component of modern packaging lines in the food, pharmaceutical and consumer goods industries.

Common types include self-adhesive labelling machines (standard for most applications), wet-glue labelling machines (traditionally used in the drinks industry for glass bottles), sleeve labelling machines (shrink sleeves for complex shapes), in-mould labelling machines, and print-and-dispense systems for custom labels.

Leading manufacturers include Krones, Herma, Bizerba, Sidel, KHS, P.E. Labellers, Logopak, Brother, Zebra Technologies and Marchesini.

Labelling machines are used in beverage production (beer, wine, juices), in the food industry, in pharmaceutical and cosmetics production, in consumer goods packaging, in logistics centres for dispatch labelling, and in industrial product marking.
