3-wheel forklift truck

3-wheel forklifts have only three wheels instead of four (two at the front, one at the rear, which is steered) and are characterised by exceptional manoeuvrability and a tight turning circle. They are the ideal solution for warehouses with narrow aisles and limited manoeuvring space.

Variants are almost exclusively electric 3-wheel forklifts (diesel models are rare), categorised by load capacity (typically 1.2–2.0 tonnes) and overall height. Models with multi-directional drive allow sideways movement with long loads.

Common manufacturers include Linde, Still, Jungheinrich, Toyota, Crown, Yale, Hyster, Mitsubishi Forklift and Komatsu.

Three-wheel forklifts are used in warehouses with narrow aisles, in retail and wholesale, in production environments with limited space, in pharmaceutical and food warehouses, in mail order and e-commerce logistics, and in internal workshop logistics.
