Reach trucks are specialised electric forklifts designed for loading and unloading in narrow-aisle high-bay warehouses. A key feature is the mast that extends forwards, allowing loads to be picked up without the truck having to move forwards.
Load capacities range from 1 to 3 tonnes, with lift heights of over 14 metres. Variants include standard reach trucks, 4-way reach trucks for long-load storage, and combined reach/narrow-aisle models for particularly dense storage layouts.
Common manufacturers include Linde, Still, Jungheinrich, Toyota, Crown, BT, Hyster, Yale and Mitsubishi Forklift.
Reach trucks are used in high-bay warehouses, in logistics centres with high space utilisation, in e-commerce distribution, in pharmaceutical and food warehouses, and in production supply with high-bay racking.
