Printing machines & printing presses

Printing machinery encompasses all machines used for the professional production of printed materials on paper, cardboard, film and textiles. The main processes include offset printing presses (sheet-fed and web offset), digital printing presses for variable short runs, flexographic printing presses for packaging and label printing, and screen printing presses.

In the post-press sector, bookbinding machines (adhesive binders, wire stitching, thread stitching), post-press machines such as folding machines and creasing units, as well as cutting machines for print (cutting machines, stack cutters) are used. 3D printers for prototyping and small-batch production round off the modern production range.

Leading manufacturers include Heidelberg, KBA Koenig & Bauer, Komori, Manroland, HP Indigo, Canon, Xerox, Polar, Müller Martini and Stratasys.

Printing presses are used in print shops, publishing houses, packaging manufacturers, advertising agencies, in-house print departments, and in label and film processing.
