Fertiliser spreaders are agricultural implements designed for the even application of mineral fertiliser to fields. Precise distribution has a direct impact on plant growth, yield and fertiliser costs.
The main types are disc spreaders / centrifugal spreaders (standard, large working widths up to 50 m, high output), pendulum spreaders (older, simple design for small areas), pneumatic spreaders for particularly precise cross-distribution, and large-area spreaders with on-board computers, GPS control and site-specific rate adjustment.
Common manufacturers include Amazone, Rauch, Kverneland, Bredal, Sulky, Kuhn, Bogballe, Lely and Vicon.
Fertiliser spreaders are used on all arable farms, on grassland for meadow and pasture fertilisation, by contractors, and in the municipal sector for the fertilisation of sports fields and green spaces.
