Buy new and second-hand Husqvarna vibratory plates, rammers and concrete equipment – a wide selection of construction machinery direct from specialist retailers. We mainly stock Husqvarna products in the ground compaction category: forward-running vibratory plates from the LF series, reversible plates from the LG and LH series, and rammers from the LT series. We also stock floor saws, cut-off grinders and core drilling machines in our drilling and cutting equipment range, as well as individual rollers – available as new or used equipment, with year of manufacture, weight, working width and drive type specified in the listing. Supplied by GSK Baumaschinen from Hanhofen and Kraus Baumaschinen from Frankenthal; the stock is constantly changing. This page features construction equipment from Husqvarna Construction – not chainsaws or garden tools, and not the motorcycles of the same name.
Husqvarna at a glance
Husqvarna is one of the world’s oldest industrial companies: the firm was founded in 1689 in Huskvarna, southern Sweden, as a armoury and later went on to manufacture sewing machines, bicycles and household appliances. In 1978, Electrolux took over the company; in 2006, the Husqvarna Group became independent again and has been listed on the Nasdaq Stockholm ever since. Its headquarters are in Stockholm and Huskvarna. In 2025, the group employed around 11,900 people and had a turnover of approximately 46.6 billion Swedish kronor. The motorbike business was sold to Cagiva as early as 1976 and is now part of Bajaj – it has no connection with the construction equipment division.
The construction division, Husqvarna Construction, traces its origins back to a converted saw from 1968. Today, it supplies professionals with machinery and diamond tools for concrete and stone: saws, core drilling equipment, compaction, demolition, grinding and polishing. The group includes, amongst others, the Diamant Boart brand, the floor grinding specialist HTC (since 2017) and Blastrac (shot blasting and grinding technology) (since 2020). In Germany, Husqvarna Construction supports its customers through service centres in Niederstotzingen and Bochum, amongst other locations.

LF, LG, LH, LT: what the Husqvarna model codes reveal
Husqvarna classifies its compactors by design. LF models are forward-running vibratory plates for paving, sand and thin layers; LG models are reversible plates that run forwards and backwards and provide greater centrifugal force for gravel and backfill; LH models represent the heavy-duty class. LT stands for rammers, LP for rollers. The number roughly indicates the weight class: an LF 100 weighs around 105 to 118 kg, an LG 400 around 400 to 440 kg, and an LH 700 around 780 kg; among compactors, an LT 6005 weighs just under 70 kg. Suffixes usually describe the power source and features – D for diesel, PACE and i for battery-powered machines. Each advert specifies the exact weight, working width and power source.
| Model | Specifications | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| LF 50 L / LF 60 LAT | 32–35 cm, 56–70 kg, petrol, 8–10 kN | Paving, footpaths, landscaping |
| LF 75 / LF 80 | 42 cm, 84–97 kg, petrol or battery, 15–19 kN | Paving, utility trenches, all-rounder in landscaping |
| LF 100 / LF 130 | 50 cm, 105–135 kg, petrol, diesel or battery, 17–20 kN | Surfaces, base courses, paving with rubber mats |
| LG 164 / LG 204 | 45–50 cm, 170–211 kg, 28–36 kN | Backfilling, pipeline construction, smaller areas |
| LG 300 | 50–60 cm, approx. 270 kg, petrol, 40 kN | Gravel and frost protection layers |
| LG 400 / LG 504 | 55–85 cm, 400–510 kg, diesel or petrol, 52–65 kN | Excavation pits, foundations, road and sewer construction |
| LH 700 | 66 cm, 780 kg, diesel, 95 kN | Thick layers of fill, heavy earthworks |
| LT 5005 / LT 6005 / LT 8005 | 23–33 cm foot, 61–92 kg, petrol or diesel | Trenches, cohesive soils, connections to structures |
What we look for in second-hand Husqvarna machines
Base plate and exciter: Check for wear and cracks on the base plate, play in the exciter and the condition of the rubber buffers between the upper and lower sections. On reversible LG and LH plates, the direction changeover must operate smoothly and without delay.
Drive: V-belts, centrifugal clutches and air filters are the typical wear parts on vibratory plates. Test cold start and idling; for battery-powered machines such as the LF 75 PACE or LF 100 PACE, enquire about the age and capacity of the battery and charger.
Rammers: Inspect the bellows for cracks and oil leaks; check the rammer foot for wear and the guide bracket for breaks. A rammer must bounce evenly and must not pull off to one side.
Cutting and drilling equipment: For floor saws and core drills, check the shaft bearings, water supply, depth adjustment and stand. Diamond tools are consumables – the advert will specify whether discs or drill bits are included.
Husqvarna at our company: Dealers and stock
GSK Baumaschinen in Hanhofen stocks the majority of our Husqvarna range, including new equipment: vibratory plates, rammers and other equipment for compaction and concrete work. Kraus Baumaschinen in Frankenthal supplements this with individual Husqvarna items. You can find comparable compaction equipment under Weber, Bomag and Wacker Neuson.
Frequently asked questions about Husqvarna construction equipment
Is Husqvarna Construction the same company as the chainsaws and motorbikes?
Chainsaws, lawnmowers and construction equipment are part of the Husqvarna Group, but are separate divisions. The brand’s motorbikes were sold off as early as 1976 and are now owned by Bajaj. This page focuses on Husqvarna Construction: compactors, saws, core drilling equipment and concrete machinery.
What is the difference between Husqvarna LF, LG and LH?
LF plates run forwards only and are suitable for paving, sand and thin layers. LG plates are reversible, running forwards and backwards, and compact even gravel and backfill with greater centrifugal force. The LH 700 is the heavy-duty plate, weighing around 780 kg, designed for thick layers of loose material.
What does the number on Husqvarna vibratory plates mean?
It roughly indicates the weight class: an LF 100 weighs around 110 kg, an LG 300 around 270 kg, and an LG 504 around 500 kg. The exact weight, working width and centrifugal force are specified in the advert.
Are there any cordless Husqvarna vibratory plates?
Yes. The forward-running compactors LF 75 PACE, LF 100 PACE and LF 60i LAT are battery-powered, produce no exhaust fumes and are significantly quieter – making them ideal for courtyards, halls and building sites in residential areas.
Vibratory plate or rammer – which do I need?
The vibratory plate compacts sand, gravel, crushed stone and paving over larger areas. The rammer, such as the LT 6005, operates with short, powerful strokes and is better suited to narrow trenches, cohesive soils and connections to walls and shafts.
Which second-hand Husqvarna compactors are most commonly traded?
Among compactors, the reversible LG 504 plate is one of the most common second-hand models, alongside the forward-running LF 75 and rammers from the LT series. In cutting technology, K-series cut-off saws and FS-series floor saws appear regularly. Spare parts such as V-belts, couplings and rubber buffers are readily available.
Does Husqvarna also manufacture cut-off saws and floor saws?
Yes. Husqvarna Construction is one of the best-known suppliers of equipment for cutting and drilling concrete, with K-series cut-off machines, FS-series floor saws, DM-series core drills, and wall and wire saws. You can find these machines in our ‘Drilling and Cutting Technology’ section.
Can I lease a Husqvarna machine or finance it via hire purchase?
For many listings – both new and used – you can submit a non-binding leasing or hire-purchase enquiry directly. You can discuss the terms with the dealer or their finance partner; the purchase and payment are handled directly between you and the seller.
