New Amtec Asphaltbox 3t with heating system – ThermoTOP heating
The Amtec Asphaltbox 3 t is an insulated thermal container for hot asphalt, shown here with a ThermoTop diesel heater. It has a capacity of 2.0 m³, a payload of 3,600 kg and weighs approximately 681 kg when empty. The dimensions, excluding attachments, are 2,500 mm in length, 1,500 mm in width and 1,160 mm in height. The colour is RAL 2011, municipal orange. We reserve the right to make technical changes.
The volume of 2.0 m³ is the amount that fits into the chamber. The payload of 3,600 kg is the permissible fill weight. The two figures are closely related: with hot mix asphalt, the box is usually full once the 3,600 kg mark is reached. The tare weight of approx. 681 kg must be added to this. The vehicle, axle load and load securing must therefore support the container plus its contents, not just the mix. The ‘approx.’ figure applies to the box as per the data sheet and is not a weighing slip for registration purposes.
The insulation is up to 10 cm thick on all sides. In addition, there is a two-part insulated hinged lid with a filling flap lock and a lid-opening aid. Only the section required for filling or unloading is opened. Unloading takes place via a fold-away 400-mm chute. When folded away, it stays out of the way during transport; when in use, it discharges the mixed material at the rear.
Arrangements are in place for loading and securing. A forklift attachment lifts the box onto the flatbed and removes it again. Lashing eyes secure it to the vehicle, whilst provisions for bolting it in place allow for a permanent installation. All moving parts are galvanised. The operating instructions are included.
The ThermoTop diesel heater is fitted at the factory and tested for correct operation. The power output is approx. 3.5 kW, the voltage is 24 V, and the heat output reaches up to 120 °C. Diesel consumption is approx. 0.5 l/h, and electricity consumption approx. 3 kWh. The system is approved in accordance with ECE-R 122. It must not be operated in enclosed spaces such as garages or workshops. The heater supplements the insulation during pre-heating and prolonged periods of inactivity; it does not replace it. The consumption and performance figures are manufacturer’s specifications, with approx.
