Buy second-hand vans – Volkswagen Crafter, Fiat Ducato and other panel vans, flatbed vans and double-cab vans up to 7.5 t, direct from specialist dealers. We list vans and light goods vehicles for tradespeople, the construction industry, courier services and fleet operators. The range is constantly changing; each listing specifies the date of first registration, mileage, body type and emissions standard.
Which van is right for your business?
Panel vans up to 3.5 t: Volkswagen Crafter panel van (year of manufacture 2023). Enclosed load compartment for tools, materials and parcel delivery services; can be driven with a Category B driving licence.
Double cab with flatbed (Doka): Fiat Ducato Maxi Doka. Six to seven seats plus an open loading area – the typical solution for construction and landscaping teams that need to transport both crew and materials.
Flatbeds, panel vans and tippers up to 7.5 t: Light goods vehicles requiring a Category C1 driving licence offer significantly more payload than a 3.5-tonne vehicle, for example for building materials, scaffolding or removals.
What we look out for in used vans
Payload: With 3.5-tonne vans, the payload is often less than expected once the interior fittings, shelving and tow bar have been fitted. We recommend comparing the kerb weight stated on the vehicle registration document with the planned payload.
Mileage and servicing: Fleet vehicles from lease returns often have high mileage but a complete service history. Timing belts or chains, the clutch and the dual-mass flywheel are the most expensive components.
Emissions standard: Euro 6 is important for low-emission zones and diesel driving bans. Check the AdBlue system and particulate filter.
Towing capacity: Many tradespeople tow mini-excavator or flatbed trailers. Check the permissible towing capacity, drawbar load and driving licence category required for the combination before purchasing.
Rust and bodywork: Wheel arches, sills, chassis and flatbed floor; for panel vans, the sliding door and load compartment floor.

Frequently asked questions about second-hand vans
What driving licence is required for vans up to 7.5 t?
For vehicles with a maximum authorised mass (MAM) of up to 3.5 t, a Category B licence is sufficient; for those between 3.5 and 7.5 t, a Category C1 licence is required. Anyone who obtained the old Category 3 licence before 1999 is generally permitted to drive vehicles up to 7.5 t.
Are vans over 3.5 t subject to the lorry toll?
Yes, since July 2024, a lorry toll has been in force in Germany for vehicles with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 3.5 t or more. Under certain conditions, tradespeople are exempt from this for vehicles under 7.5 t.
What is a Doka?
A double-cab with two rows of seats and a short flatbed. It can carry a team of six to seven people along with their equipment.
How many kilometres is normal for a second-hand van?
Commercial vans often cover 30,000 to 50,000 km a year. With good maintenance, 250,000 km is not a deal-breaker for a diesel engine.
Panel van or flatbed?
A panel van protects tools and materials from the weather and theft. A flatbed can be loaded from the side using a forklift or crane and can carry bulky materials such as scaffolding or pipes.
Can I lease or finance a van?
For many listings, you can submit a no-obligation enquiry for leasing or hire purchase directly. The purchase and payment are handled directly between you and the dealer.
