Buy a blasting system – abrasive recovery systems from Contracor and M.A.L. Mechatronik, flame spraying systems from IBIX, direct from specialist dealers. We stock equipment for surface preparation and coating in the fields of corrosion protection, steel construction, tank manufacturing and refurbishment. Prices range from approx. €9,800 for a compact vacuum recovery system to approx. €85,400 for a mobile suction unit. The range is constantly changing; further systems can be enquired about via the dealer.

What you’ll find here

Vacuum blasting media recovery system: Contracor VAC-7HS (approx. €9,800). Vacuums up used blasting media and dust, separates reusable blasting media, thereby saving material and reducing cleaning time.

Mobile extraction unit with recovery: M.A.L. Mechatronik (approx. €85,400). For large areas and construction sites where large quantities of blasting media need to be collected and processed.

Thermal spraying: IBIX Hercules, a portable flame spraying system (approx. €38,500). This is used to apply coatings directly on site after blasting.

What we look for in blasting technology

Process: Compressed-air blasting is flexible and portable, suitable even for use on construction sites and on large components. Centrifugal wheel systems are stationary and designed for the continuous processing of production parts. Check which process is suitable for your workpieces.

Abrasive: Corundum for rough surfaces and rust removal; glass beads for gentle cleaning and matting; steel grit for steel construction and high recovery rates. The recovery system and filters must be suitable for the abrasive used.

Recovery and extraction: Suction capacity, separators, filter area and the condition of the filter cartridges determine how much blasting media can be reused and how dust-free the working environment remains. Check hoses and wear parts for abrasion.

Compressed air requirements: Blasting requires a lot of compressed air. Check the flow rate and pressure of your compressor and make provision for a dryer and separator to prevent the blasting media from clumping.

Health and safety: A blast-protection helmet with a breathing air supply, a deadman’s switch on the nozzle, earthing to prevent static build-up and dust protection in accordance with hazardous substances legislation are mandatory.

Frequently asked questions about blasting systems

How much does an abrasive recovery system cost?

Compact vacuum units such as the Contracor VAC-7HS cost around €9,800. Mobile extraction units for large construction sites cost several times that amount, with stock prices at around €85,400.

Is recovery worth it?

For reusable blasting media such as steel grit or corundum, yes: you save on material, disposal costs and cleaning time. For single-use blasting media, the focus is on clean extraction.

What compressor do I need for blasting?

This depends primarily on the nozzle size; larger nozzles require significantly more air flow. Ask your supplier for the air flow rate required for your nozzle and choose a compressor with a margin to spare.

What is flame spraying?

In flame spraying, a coating material is melted in a flame and sprayed onto the blasted surface. Portable systems such as the IBIX Hercules allow this to be done directly on the component or on site.

Is dry ice blasting an alternative?

For residue-free cleaning – for example, on tools, plant or during refurbishment – yes, because the dry ice sublimates. For rust removal and surface profiling prior to coating, blasting with corundum or steel grit remains the standard method.
