bagela

Buy new and second-hand Bagela cable winches, cable reel trailers and cable pullers – a wide selection of cable-laying equipment direct from specialist dealers. Under the Bagela brand, we mainly stock equipment for power line and fibre-optic installation: cable-pulling winches and pipe-renewal winches, auxiliary rope winches and cable-pushing units in the cable-laying equipment category, as well as cable-reel trolleys from the BKT series under construction machinery trailers – each listing includes pulling force, weight, condition and year of manufacture, where specified. Supplied by GSK Baumaschinen from Hanhofen and Kraus Baumaschinen from Frankenthal; the stock is constantly changing. Bagela is also known to many as a manufacturer of mobile asphalt recyclers – both divisions belong to the same company based in Kaltenkirchen.

Bagela at a glance

Behind the brand is Bagela Baumaschinen GmbH & Co. KG in Kaltenkirchen, Schleswig-Holstein, around 40 km north of Hamburg. The company was founded in December 1984 and, according to its own information, remains owner-managed to this day. The site comprises a 40,000 m² plot with around 18,000 m² of production and storage space; Bagela states it has 55 employees and sales partners in more than 70 countries. Many machines can also be hired from the manufacturer, allowing customers to test them before purchasing.

Bagela has two main areas of business. The brand became known for its mobile asphalt recyclers – Bagela describes itself as the patent-holding global market leader in the processing of reclaimed asphalt directly on site. Today, the cable and pipe laying division is at least as significant: reel and cable-pulling winches, pipe-renewal winches for the burst method, cable reel and pipe reel trailers, cable-pushing units and blowing systems for cables and micro-pipes. It is precisely this sector that accounts for the majority of our Bagela stock.

What the Bagela model designation reveals

Bagela uses letter abbreviations to denote the equipment group and a number that roughly indicates the capacity. KW stands for cable-pulling winches, RW for pipe-replacement winches, BKT for cable-reel trailers, BKS for cable-pushing units and BA for asphalt recyclers. With winches, the pulling force is usually indicated: a KW 3002 pulls 30 kN, an RW 5000 pulls 50 kN, and an RW 40 pulls 400 kN. For asphalt recyclers, the number indicates the hourly output – BA 10000F stands for up to 10 t of mix per hour. For cable drum trailers, the number roughly corresponds to the payload in 100 kg (BKT 27 approx. 2.6 t, BKT 80 8 t). For the BKS 800 cable pusher, the suffix ‘E’ denotes an electric motor, whilst ‘H’ denotes hydraulic drive via a separate power unit. The data in the advertisement and on the type plate always take precedence.

What we look for in second-hand Bagela equipment

Winch, capstan and rope: On cable-pulling and pipe-replacement winches, a double capstan with a rope storage drum is used. Check for grooves in the capstan, the condition and length of the rope, the automatic rope-laying mechanism and the hydrostatic drive under load; compare the operating hours with the maintenance record.

Tensile force measurement and report: Many clients require a tensile force report for cable pulling. Check which measuring and recording device is fitted (such as the PC 310 or the PC 410 touchscreen system with USB/Wi-Fi) and whether it is calibrated.

Chassis and registration: Winches and cable drum trailers are used on public roads. Check the brakes (overrun or pneumatic brakes), tyres, galvanisation and documentation; for BKT trailers, also check the mounting mechanism for the drum and the height-adjustable drawbar.

Asphalt recyclers: On a second-hand BA 10000F, key factors include the drum with drive pins, the burner, the engine and the operating hours. Ask to see maintenance records for the burner and the drive system.

Bagela at our premises: Dealers and stock

GSK Baumaschinen in Hanhofen offers Bagela KW 3000 cable-pulling winches, new BKT 27 cable drum trolleys with height-adjustable drawbar, the BKS 800 H cable pusher and second-hand auxiliary cable winches. For trenchless property connections, Tracto and GEO offer their ground rockets; for asphalt construction, Amtec’s thermocontainers are ideal.

Frequently asked questions about Bagela

Does Bagela manufacture asphalt recyclers or cable-laying equipment?

Both. Bagela Baumaschinen GmbH & Co. KG, based in Kaltenkirchen, manufactures mobile asphalt recyclers from the BA series and a wide range of equipment for cable and pipe laying: winches, cable drum trailers, cable pullers and blow-in systems. Our current stock consists mainly of cable-laying equipment.

What do KW, RW, BKT and BKS stand for?

KW stands for cable-pulling winches, RW for pipe-replacement winches, BKT for cable reel trailers and BKS for cable-pushing units. The number roughly describes the performance; for winches, this is usually the pulling force – a KW 3002 or RW 3000 exerts a pulling force of 30 kN.

How much can a Bagela BKT 27 cable reel trailer carry?

According to the manufacturer, it has a payload of 2,640 kg with a permissible gross vehicle weight of 3,500 kg (2,680 kg with a straight drawbar). It accommodates reels up to 2,800 mm in diameter, has an overrun brake and is hot-dip galvanised. The drum is picked up at the touch of a button and transported between the axles.

What is a cable pusher like the BKS 800 used for?

It feeds the cable via driven pairs of rollers, thereby relieving tension on routes with numerous bends. This allows longer lengths of cable to be laid without the need for joints. The BKS 800 delivers 8 kN of pushing force for diameters ranging from 30 to 180 mm, available as the E version with an electric motor or the H version with a hydraulic drive.

What is a pipe replacement winch?

A winch with particularly high pulling force, used in trenchless pipe replacement to pull new pipes into old sewers or bored tunnels. Bagela manufactures them with capacities ranging from 30 kN (RW 3000) to 1,000 kN (RW 100).

Can a Bagela winch be towed on the road?

The winches are mounted on their own chassis with brakes; Bagela states that the RW 3000 to RW 5000 and the KW diesel winches are approved for speeds of up to 100 km/h. When purchasing second-hand equipment, check the documentation, brakes and tyres.

What does a Bagela asphalt recycler do?

The BA recyclers heat up reclaimed asphalt in a heated drum and, according to the manufacturer’s specifications, make it ready for reuse in around ten minutes. The BA 7000F processes up to 7 t, and the BA 10000F up to 10 t per hour.

Can I lease Bagela equipment or finance it via hire purchase?

For many listings – both new and used – you can submit a non-binding leasing or hire-purchase enquiry directly. You can discuss the terms with the dealer or their finance partner; the purchase and payment are handled directly between you and the seller.
