Buy new and second-hand GEO earth augers – a wide selection of earth augers with oscillating heads ranging from Ø 48 to Ø 130 mm, direct from specialist retailers. Under the GEO brand, we offer long-version pneumatic earth augers, each fitted with a swivel head, oilers and a compressed air hose, as well as ready-made sets comprising an earth auger and a construction compressor – all listed in the Earth Augers category, with each listing detailing the diameter, specifications and condition. You can find the right air source under ‘Construction Compressors’. Supplied by GSK Baumaschinen in Hanhofen; stock is constantly changing. This page features GEO earth rockets for trenchless pipework installation – not mulchers, shredders or rotary tillers for agriculture and forestry.
GEO at a glance
For us, GEO stands for a range of ground-penetrating hammers, also known as soil-displacement hammers. A ground-penetrating hammer is a compressed-air-powered striking piston housed in a steel tube, which drives itself through the ground whilst displacing the soil to the sides. This creates a trench-free channel into which cables, protective pipes or conduits can then be pulled – passing beneath pavements, driveways, gardens or roads without breaking up the surface. The GEO listings cite fibre-optic cables (FTTX), power cables, water pipes, e-mobility, gas pipes and underground cables as areas of application, as well as pipe rehabilitation using dynamic and static bursting methods; the equipment is described as “fast, powerful, effective, durable and easy to use”.
All GEO ground rockets in our stock are long versions with an oscillating head. The movable head operates in the ground ahead of the main body of the machine. The scope of delivery includes an oiler, which adds lubricating oil to the compressed air, and a 15-metre-long 48/55 air hose with an Adlock coupling, rated up to a maximum of 10 bar. The information available to us does not provide reliable evidence of who the manufacturer behind the GEO brand is; we therefore only quote data from the equipment specifications here. Questions regarding the warranty, replacement heads and wear parts should be addressed to the dealer.

What the GEO model designation reveals
The designation is self-explanatory with GEO. The number after the Ø indicates the outer diameter of the ground lance in millimetres – an Ø 130 L has a diameter of 130 mm. The L stands for the long version, whilst the suffix ‘oscillating head’ refers to the movable oscillating head. The diameter of the auger roughly determines the diameter of the borehole and thus how thick pipes or cables can be pulled through. Larger rockets require more compressed air and more oil: the Ø 48 L comes with a 1.3-litre oil can, whilst the Ø 130 L comes with a 4-litre one. It is best to check with your dealer to find out which model is suitable for which type of ground.

| GEO Ø 48 L | 48 mm, oscillating head, 1.3-litre oil reservoir, 15 m 48/55 hose, Adlock up to 10 bar | Fibre-optic home connections, empty conduits, thin cables |
| GEO Ø 55 L | 55 mm, oscillating head, lubricator, 15 m hose | Home connections for fibre-optic and electricity, wallbox supply cables |
| GEO Ø 65 L | 65 mm, swivel head, oiler, 15 m hose | Electricity and water service connections |
| GEO Ø 75 L | 75 mm, swivel head, oiling device, 15 m hose | Water and gas connections, protective pipes |
| GEO Ø 95 L | 95 mm, oscillating head, oiling device, 15 m hose | larger protective pipes, passing under driveways |

What we look for in the GEO ground rocket
Choosing the right compressor: An earth rocket is only as good as its air supply. The compressor’s pressure and flow rate must be suited to the diameter; for the small rockets (Ø 48 L and Ø 55 L), we offer ready-made sets with a 6 bar compressor delivering 1.4 m³/min. Our guide ‘Choosing a Construction Compressor’ explains how to select the correct pressure and flow rate.
Oiler and lubrication: The supplied oiler supplies the striking piston with lubricating oil. It must be filled before every use; a piston running dry wears out quickly. Check the oil level and use the oil recommended by the dealer.
Hose and couplings: The 15-metre-long 48/55 hose with an Adlock coupling is rated up to 10 bar. Check couplings, seals and the hose for damage and connect them securely – hoses pulsating under pressure pose a risk of accident.
Nozzle and launch pit: The oscillating nozzle is the part subject to the greatest stress. For second-hand equipment, inspect the nozzle and housing for wear. Before launch, obtain flight path information, carefully align the rocket in the launch pit and determine the target pit.
GEO with us: Dealers and stock
GSK Baumaschinen in Hanhofen stocks our entire GEO range: new long-version ground rockets with oscillating heads from Ø 48 to Ø 130 mm and sets comprising a ground rocket and an Atmos construction compressor. You can find further equipment for trenchless pipe laying under Tracto, cable winches and cable reel trailers under Bagela, and construction compressors under Atlas Copco and Kaeser.
Frequently asked questions about GEO ground rockets
What is a ground-penetrating rocket?
A compressed-air-powered ground-displacement hammer. A striking piston drives the device through the ground, displacing the soil to the sides; cables, pipes or conduits are then pulled into the resulting channel – without digging a trench and without breaking up the surface.
What does ‘Ø 75 L’ mean at GEO?
The number refers to the diameter of the ground-penetrating hammer in millimetres; the ‘L’ stands for the long version. All GEO ground-penetrating hammers in our stock have a swing head.
What sizes are available?
We offer GEO ground rockets with diameters of Ø 48, 55, 65, 75, 95, 110 and 130 mm, each supplied with an oiler and a 15 m compressed air hose.
What compressor do I need for a GEO ground rocket?
That depends on the diameter: larger rockets require more air. For the Ø 48 L and Ø 55 L models, there are kits available with the Atmos PB 82 E compressor (6 bar, 1.4 m³/min). For larger diameters, please consult your dealer regarding the air flow rate; our guide to construction compressors explains the basics.
What are GEO ground rockets used for?
According to the equipment specifications, they are used for fibre-optic cables (FTTX), power cables, water and gas pipes, e-mobility and underground cables, as well as for pipe rehabilitation using soil displacement, ramming and dynamic or static bursting methods.
What is included in the scope of delivery?
The ground rocket with oscillating head, an oil can (1.3 l for Ø 48 L, 4 l for Ø 130 L) and a 15 m long 48/55 compressed air hose with Adlock coupling rated up to 10 bar. The sets also include a construction compressor.
Does GEO also manufacture mulchers?
The GEO machines on this page are exclusively earth rockets for pipeline construction. You can find mulchers, shredders and rotary tillers in our agricultural machinery categories, for example under soil cultivation equipment.
Can I lease a GEO earth rocket or finance it via hire purchase?
For many listings – both new and used – you can submit a non-binding leasing or hire-purchase enquiry directly. You can discuss the terms with the dealer or their finance partner; the purchase and payment are handled directly between you and the seller.
