EXTENDABLE UNDERCARRIAGE
The undercarriage, which can be extended to 1,000 mm, increases front stability, lifting capacity, and operating comfort. When retracted, it measures only 830 mm and is even more maneuverable thanks to its reduced width. The blade extensions, which fold out quickly and easily, are permanently attached and therefore cannot be lost. The undercarriage, made from a single cast piece, offers additional robustness and also serves as a stabilizing counterweight during 360-degree turns of the machine. At 1,440 mm, the tracks are longer than on other models in this class.
COMPACTNESS
The ViO12-2A is a true zero-tail-swing excavator model. Even with the undercarriage fully extended, neither the counterweight nor the front section of the upper frame extends beyond the width of the tracks. This allows it to be used safely, versatilely, and easily in confined spaces. Even when fully extended, the rear overhang is only 85 mm. With the boom extended, the front swing radius is 1,080 mm, while the rear swing radius is just 650 mm—a real advantage in confined spaces. The longer tracks further improve stability and ride comfort.
POWERFUL
The three-cylinder engine is pleasantly quiet and offers low fuel consumption. Together with the advanced cooling system, it delivers outstanding hydraulic performance without overheating, even in tropical climates. In terms of its thrust (13.9 kN) and breakout force (5.8 kN), it is comparable to other machines available on the market, but significantly outperforms them with its digging depth of 1,950 mm. Thanks to the two variable-flow pumps and safety switches, trouble-free operation is ensured. The axial piston pumps also offer better performance than the standard gear pumps. The switch for the second travel speed is standard equipment and allows the machine to travel at speeds of up to 4 km/h.
EASY TO OPERATE
The operator’s ergonomic working environment has been carefully designed. All controls are easily accessible; precision joysticks on both sides of the seat further facilitate operation. This simplifies the control of all machine movements, thereby increasing precision, overall productivity, and operator comfort.
EASY TO MAINTAIN
With the ViO12-2A excavator, emphasis was placed on easy maintenance and servicing. The goal was to reduce downtime and extend service life. The parts requiring maintenance are quick and easy to access. For example, the front hydraulic manifold is directly accessible, and the engine is also easily accessible via the large engine hood for daily maintenance. The hydraulic hoses on the rear of the arm are also easily accessible. Since the hoses are divided into several sections, only the affected section needs to be replaced in the event of a defect. Unlike competing machines, Yanmar uses very few plastic parts. This increases durability and gives the mini excavator the highest resale value in its class.
