Linde

Buy new and used Linde forklifts – a wide selection of electric, diesel and LPG forklifts, pallet trucks and warehouse equipment directly from specialist dealers. Linde is one of the brands with the largest stock in our range: electric forklift trucks from E12 to E50, diesel and LPG forklift trucks from H20 to H80, pallet trucks and high-lift pallet trucks, reach trucks and tow tractors – each listing includes the year of manufacture, operating hours, load capacity, lift height and model series. Supplied by Zoch in Aidenbach, Hinrichs Flurfördergeräte and Kraus Baumaschinen; stock changes constantly. This page features industrial trucks from Linde Material Handling – not the Linde gas group.

Linde Material Handling at a glance

Linde Material Handling is based in Aschaffenburg. Its roots date back to 1904, when Carl von Linde held a stake in the Güldner-Motoren-Gesellschaft, which moved to Aschaffenburg in 1907. In 1955, Linde built the first vehicle with a hydrostatic drive; this was followed in 1960 at the Hannover Messe by the first forklift truck featuring this technology, the Hubtrac. Since 2006, Linde Material Handling has been an independent limited liability company (GmbH) within the KION GROUP, which has been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 2013 and, in 2025, generated a turnover of around 11.3 billion euros with more than 42,000 employees. The KION GROUP also includes the sister brand STILL; both utilise shared production facilities, such as those for axles in Český Krumlov and for warehouse technology and masts in Châtellerault. Linde manufactures around 80 model ranges, in Germany at its sites in Aschaffenburg, Nilkheim, Kahl am Main and Weilbach.

What has always set Linde forklifts apart: the internal combustion models feature hydrostatic drive without a manual gearbox or clutch, controlled via the dual-pedal system (right for forward, left for reverse); with Linde Load Control, the lift and tilt functions are integrated into the armrest. The current H20 to H35 models are also based on the ‘Protector Frame’ concept with a decoupled driver’s cab.

What the Linde model designation reveals

Linde names its equipment according to a simple scheme: model letter + load capacity in 100 kg + suffix. H stands for hydrostatic internal combustion engines, E for electric counterbalanced forklifts, L for high-lift trucks, T for low-lift trucks, R for reach trucks, and P for tow tractors. For internal combustion engines, the drive type follows: D = diesel, T = LPG. An H30D is therefore a 3.0 t diesel forklift, an E16 a 1.6 t electric forklift, and an L14 a 1.4 t high-lift truck. Suffixes such as EVO (Efficiency Series), ION (lithium-ion), C (compact) or L/HL (larger battery) describe the specifications. The three- or four-digit model number on the type plate is crucial for spare parts – an E25 from the 387 series and one from the 1252 series are technically different machines.

What we look for in a used Linde forklift

Hydrostatic drive on internal combustion engines: The hydrostatic drive is low-wear as there is no clutch or gearbox. Check the hydraulic oil, the seals on the pumps and motors, and whether the forklift accelerates and brakes smoothly.

Battery and charger for electric models: The battery’s age, charge cycles and capacity determine the running costs; ensure you are provided with a suitable charger. ION models with lithium-ion batteries charge during breaks.

Mast, forks, chains: Check for play in the mast profiles, chain elongation, fork wear (maximum 10 per cent loss of thickness), side shifters and auxiliary hydraulics. Lifting height and mast design are specified in the advert.

Series and documentation: Check that the series number and year of manufacture on the type plate match those in the advert; inspect the operating hours counter and the service log. For Germany, ensure proof of the annual inspection in accordance with DGUV Regulation 68 is provided.

Linde with us: Dealers and stock

Zoch in Aidenbach (Lower Bavaria) stocks the majority of our Linde inventory: electric and internal combustion forklifts across all load capacity classes, pallet trucks, high-lift pallet trucks and reach trucks – reconditioned and with the model series specified in the advert. Hinrichs Flurfördergeräte supplements the range with heavy-duty Linde forklifts, whilst Kraus Baumaschinen offers individual machines for construction and yard use. You can find comparable machines under Still, Jungheinrich and Toyota; the full stock is listed in the ‘Forklifts & Industrial Trucks’ category.

Frequently asked questions about Linde forklifts

What do H30D, E16 or L14 mean for Linde?

The letter indicates the model type (H = internal combustion, E = electric forklift, L = high-lift truck, T = low-lift truck, R = reach truck, P = tow tractor), the number indicates the load capacity in 100 kg, and D or T for internal combustion models denote diesel or LPG. An H30D is therefore a 3 t diesel forklift, whilst an E16 is a 1.6 t electric forklift.

Why is the model series number so important?

There have been several technically different generations within the same model – for example, the E25 from the 387 series and the 1252 series. For spare parts, maintenance and batteries, it is the three- or four-digit series number on the type plate that counts, not just the model.

Which Linde forklift is the most commonly traded second-hand model?

On the major second-hand marketplaces, the E16 electric forklift and the H30, H25 and H35 internal combustion forklifts lead the way, followed by the H50 and the L14 high-lift truck. The choice is correspondingly wide, and spare parts are readily available.

What is the advantage of the hydrostatic drive?

The engine drives a hydraulic pump, and the wheels are driven by hydraulic motors – without a clutch or manual gearbox. This makes the forklift easy to manoeuvre with precision and reduces wear and tear; the brakes are hardly ever used because the drive system brakes automatically.

Are Linde and STILL the same company?

Both are part of the KION GROUP and share production facilities and components, but operate as independent brands with their own product ranges and sales networks. Linde is based in Aschaffenburg, STILL in Hamburg.

How many operating hours are acceptable for a second-hand Linde forklift?

Provided there is evidence of regular maintenance, 8,000 to 12,000 hours is no problem for internal combustion models. For electric models, the condition of the battery is the key factor; a new or reconditioned battery significantly enhances the value of a machine with high operating hours.

Are there any Linde forklifts with lithium-ion batteries?

Yes, many electric forklifts and warehouse handling trucks are available in an ION variant with a lithium-ion battery. They charge during breaks and do not require battery changes during multi-shift operation.

Can I lease a Linde forklift or finance it via hire purchase?

For many listings, you can submit a non-binding leasing or hire-purchase enquiry directly. You can discuss the terms with the dealer or their finance partner; the purchase and payment are handled directly between you and the seller.
