Your guide to buying machinery on machinery-market.eu

1. What is machinery-market.eu?

machinery-market.eu is a B2B marketplace for new and used machinery, attachments, spare parts and similar capital goods. On the platform, you will find listings from sectors such as construction machinery, agricultural machinery, commercial vehicles, food and packaging technology, and other industrial sectors.

machinery-market.eu acts solely as an intermediary for the initial contact between buyers and sellers. The purchase contract is always concluded directly between you as the buyer and the respective seller. The operating company is GSK Handels- und Service GmbH (see Legal Notice).

2. Who is permitted to buy on machinery-market.eu?

The platform is aimed exclusively at companies and organisations acting in the course of their commercial, professional or official activities. These include in particular:

  • Companies of all sizes (sole traders, limited liability companies, public limited companies, partnerships, etc.);
  • Public authorities, federal, state and local government bodies;
  • public and church institutions;
  • charities and social welfare organisations with their own procurement departments.

Consumers within the meaning of Section 13 of the German Civil Code (BGB) are not covered. As the platform is intended exclusively for business-to-business transactions, consumer protection regulations — in particular the right of withdrawal for distance contracts — do not apply.

3. Searching for and comparing machines

3.1 Browsing by category

You can navigate step by step to the relevant sub-categories via the main categories (e.g. construction machinery, agricultural machinery, food technology, transport and commercial vehicles).

3.2 Full-text search and filters

In the search field, you can search by manufacturer, model, machine name or keywords. You can further narrow down the results using the filters, e.g. by country, year of manufacture, price, condition or technical specifications.

3.3 Detailed view of a listing

In the detailed view of a listing, you will find all the information provided by the seller, in particular:

  • machine data, technical specifications, equipment;
  • Condition and year of manufacture;
  • Location of the machine;
  • Price details (usually net, plus VAT);
  • Images and, where applicable, other media;
  • Details of the seller (legal notice, reviews where applicable).

3.4 Watchlist

You can use the “Add to wish list” function to save interesting listings for comparison at a later date. The wish list can be accessed at any time in the personal area of your buyer account.

4. Contacting sellers and making enquiries

4.1 Enquiries via the platform

You can contact the seller directly via the “Send enquiry” button on the details page of a listing. We recommend that you include the following in your enquiry:

  • Company name, contact person and full contact details;
  • specific interest (e.g. availability, delivery time, optional extras);
  • Desired delivery or destination;
  • Request for additional images, videos or documents (e.g. inspection report, service history);
  • any requests for viewings or demonstrations.

4.2 Direct contact with the seller

If the seller has published contact details in the advertisement, you can also contact them directly by telephone or email. The initial contact and all further negotiations take place directly between you and the seller.

5. From offer to sales contract

The process of a purchase on machinery-market.eu usually follows this pattern:

  1. You send an enquiry to the seller.
  2. The seller gets in touch with you and answers your questions.
  3. You negotiate the price, delivery time, payment and delivery terms, as well as any warranty and guarantee provisions, directly with the seller.
  4. On this basis, you conclude a sales contract with the seller. It is advisable to set this out in writing or at least in text form (e.g. order confirmation or written sales contract).
  5. Payment is made directly to the seller in accordance with the agreed terms.
  6. You also arrange delivery, handover or collection directly with the seller.

machinery-market.eu is not involved in these transactions and does not act as a party to the contract.

6. Advice on secure transactions

As machinery often represents a significant investment, we recommend the following precautions:

  • Check the seller’s legal notice and business details carefully.
  • Verify key details (e.g. VAT number, company registration, existing reviews).
  • If possible, arrange an on-site inspection or test drive/test run of the machine.
  • Ask to see technical documents (e.g. maintenance log, inspection reports, CE declaration of conformity, operating instructions).
  • Set out all key contractual terms (description, price, delivery time, delivery location, payment, warranty) in writing.
  • For initial contact and larger sums, we recommend an escrow arrangement or at least a deposit with the balance payable upon handover.
  • For cross-border purchases, clarify customs duties, import VAT and any licensing requirements in good time.
  • Be wary of extremely low prices, requests for payment in advance without verifiable business details, or payments made outside standard banking or escrow channels.

If you consider an advertisement or a seller to be untrustworthy, please report this to us via the “Report advertisement” function or by email to info@machinery-market.eu.

7. Warranty, guarantee and complaints

The statutory warranty towards buyers is generally the responsibility of the respective seller and is governed by the provisions agreed in the sales contract and the applicable statutory provisions. As the platform is intended exclusively for commercial transactions, the duty to inspect and give notice of defects pursuant to Section 377 of the German Commercial Code (HGB) applies in particular to purchases between traders.

Any additional guarantees (e.g. manufacturer’s or dealer’s guarantees) are offered by the seller in their own name. Please address any complaints, notices of defects or other objections directly to the seller. machinery-market.eu is not a party to the contract and cannot provide any warranty for the machinery.

8. Disputes and complaints

Should a dispute arise with a seller, please first seek direct dialogue and attempt to reach an amicable solution. We recommend keeping all relevant documents (printout of the advertisement, correspondence, order confirmation, invoice).

If you have reasonable grounds to suspect that a seller has breached their obligations, you may contact our support team. We will investigate the matter and reserve the right to suspend listings or seller accounts in justified cases. machinery-market.eu is not authorised to make binding decisions in civil disputes between buyers and sellers.

As the platform is intended solely for commercial business transactions, we do not participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

9. Leaving reviews

Where the platform offers a review system, we welcome an objective and honest review of your experience with a seller. Reviews help other buyers to make informed decisions and contribute to a fair marketplace. Offensive, untrue or exclusively disparaging reviews may be removed.

10. Costs for buyers

The use of machinery-market.eu is generally free of charge for buyers. There are no search or enquiry fees and no commissions, unless you expressly make use of additional services that incur a charge. Costs for the machine, delivery, insurance, customs and other expenses must be settled directly between you and the respective seller.

11. Questions about a machine

If you have any questions about a specific machine, please contact the respective seller directly – either via the enquiry form on the listing page or using the contact details provided in the seller’s profile.

12. Reporting suspicious listings

If you believe an advertisement or a seller to be untrustworthy, please report this to us using the “Report advertisement” function on the relevant advertisement page.
