Description

Many building sites lack a high-voltage power supply – yet tools, sandblasting units and blow-in machines still require a reliable supply of compressed air, often at pressures significantly higher than the standard 7 bar. That is precisely why we have the Kaeser MOBILAIR M59 PE in our range: a mobile, diesel-powered construction compressor in the 5 m³ class that operates off-grid and, thanks to pV control, delivers pressure continuously up to 14 bar. A unit that covers the high-pressure range that many construction site compressors simply cannot achieve.

Mobile high-pressure construction compressor with 14 bar for fibre-optic blowing, sandblasting and pneumatic tools

  • Mains-independent pneumatic tools: demolition and break-up hammers, drills, rammers – wherever there is no mains power supply. The diesel drive means the M59 is immediately ready for use on any construction site.
  • Cable blowing and fibre optics: this is where the M59 really comes into its own. Many compressors top out at 7 bar – the M59 delivers up to 14 bar, precisely the range required by modern blowing processes in fibre-optic and urban networks.
  • Sandblasting and surface treatment: For small to medium-sized high-pressure blasting jobs in the blast chamber; the flow rate (3.8–4.7 m³/min) should be suited to the blast chamber.
  • Pipework and civil engineering: Core drilling, pressure testing, general construction work – at 900 kg, it is compact enough to move quickly between job sites.

The three key figures

Operating pressure 6–14 bar. We can adjust the maximum pressure continuously via the pV control. This means a single unit can handle everything from standard tooling work at 7 bar to high-pressure blowing at 14 bar – a range where many competitors fall short.

Flow rate 4.7–3.8 m³/min. In short: pressure is the force, flow rate is the breath. At 10 bar, the M59 delivers 4.7 m³/min; at 14 bar, it still delivers 3.8 m³/min. This is the right order of magnitude for one or two breakers operating in parallel or a medium-sized blower – a short, suitably sized hose line is essential.

Engine: Hatz diesel, 42 kW, EU-Stage V. The Hatz three-cylinder engine (3D50TICD) complies with the current EU-Stage V emissions standard – this makes the machine future-proof and suitable for use even where the ‘Stage V’ standard is required. The water-cooled engine, with direct drive and energy-saving SIGMA PROFILE, is designed for continuous use on construction sites.

Standard equipment

  • Impact-resistant, corrosion-free polyethylene cowl (PE cowl)
  • Chassis with overrun brake, road-legal
  • Energy-saving KAESER screw compressor block with SIGMA PROFILE
  • pV control with continuously adjustable maximum pressure (6–14 bar)
  • 80-litre fuel tank for extended operating times
  • Compressed air outlets: 2× G 3/4 and 1× G 1
  • Operating range: −10 °C to +45 °C

What to look out for before buying

  1. Ensure the pressure and flow rate are suitable for the application. If you operate continuously at 14 bar, the flow rate is 3.8 m³/min; if you’re running two hammers in parallel, you’ll need a lower flow rate at a lower pressure. The pV control only helps if the setpoint matches the actual application.
  2. Towing vehicle and driving licence. With an operating weight of around 900 kg, the M59 can be towed without any problems using a braked trailer and a suitable towing vehicle – no heavy carrier vehicle is required.
  3. Air treatment. For blasting and injection work, it is worth ensuring the air is dry and clean; damp air causes blasting media to clump and interferes with sensitive injection processes.

Frequently asked questions

Why the 14-bar version and not 10 bar?

The 14-bar version is designed for applications requiring high pressure – particularly cable blowing in fibre-optic and local authority networks. If you mainly use standard pneumatic tools, the 10-bar version is often sufficient; however, if you require high-pressure operation, the 14-bar version is essential.

How many tools can I run at the same time?

With 4.7 m³/min at 10 bar, you can usually power one or two larger break-up hammers or a medium-sized blower. It’s crucial to use short, adequately sized hoses to ensure the pressure at the tool doesn’t drop.

Can the compressor be operated in low-emission zones?

The Hatz engine complies with the current EU Stage V emissions standard. This means the M59 meets the latest emissions regulations and can also be used in areas where ‘Stage V’ is required.

What towing vehicle do I need?

With an operating weight of around 900 kg and a road-legal chassis fitted with overrun brakes, the M59 can be towed by a standard towing vehicle – a heavy goods vehicle is not required.

How long does it run on a single tank of fuel?

The 80-litre tank is designed for long periods of operation, meaning a full working day is usually possible without refuelling – the exact running time depends on the load and pressure level.

Is the M59 suitable for continuous operation?

Yes. The MOBILAIR series is designed for demanding, continuous use on construction sites; the PE casing is impact-resistant and corrosion-free, whilst the screw block with SIGMA PROFIL operates in an energy-efficient manner.
