Cooking, roasting, deep-frying: Zanussi GH7 gas hob with 4 burners and GN 2/1 electric oven, EF7 electric deep-fat fryer with a 14-litre tank as a freestanding unit, ERG7 electric grill and EBM6 electric bain-marie for GN 2/1. The appliances are part of modular ranges with a standardised depth, allowing them to be combined to form a continuous cooking line. For pizza, we stock the Moretti iDeck PD 60.60 and a separate category of pizza ovens.

What we look out for in second-hand commercial kitchen equipment
Connection and installation location: Many electrical appliances require 400 V three-phase current; gas appliances need a certified gas installation and the correct type of gas (natural gas or LPG, with nozzle replacement if necessary). Check the connected load, fuse rating and exhaust air system before placing an order.
Refrigeration technology: The compressor starts up without rattling, the temperature is maintained, the door seals close all the way round, and the condenser is clean. The refrigerant and energy efficiency class are shown on the type plate – for appliances in continuous operation, electricity consumption determines the running costs.
Dishwashers: The boiler and tank must be free of limescale; the dosing pumps for detergent and rinse aid must be working; the wash and rinse temperatures must be reached. Where hard water is present, a water softener must be installed upstream of the machine.
Hygiene and materials: Stainless steel (CNS) free from pitting corrosion; weld seams and corners are easy to clean; thermostats display the correct readings. This forms the basis for your HACCP scheme and temperature records.
Second-hand or new: Second-hand appliances often save a third or more compared to new ones. New appliances come with a manufacturer’s warranty and the latest efficiency ratings – for refrigeration systems that run round the clock, this often pays off.

Our stock includes convection fridges and freezers at around €1,450 to €1,650, and a under-counter refrigerated counter with drawers at around €3,100. A comparable new appliance from KU 702 costs around €800 more.
What does GN 1/1 or GN 2/1 mean?
Gastronorm is the standard size for containers and racks. GN 1/1 measures 530 × 325 mm, whilst GN 2/1 is twice as large at 650 × 530 mm. Make sure that ovens, bain-maries and refrigerated counters are compatible with your existing containers.
Do I need high-voltage power for the appliances?
Deep fryers, grills, ovens and hood-type dishwashers usually run on 400 V. Fridges and under-counter dishwashers are generally available in 230 V versions. The exact specifications can be found in the advert or by enquiring with the dealer.
How many racks does a combi-steamer need?
An appliance with 6 × GN 1/1 trays, such as the Retigo B611i, is sufficient for restaurants and small canteens serving approximately 30 to 80 meals per service. For larger canteens, 10-tray or 20-tray appliances are common.
Is there a warranty on second-hand catering equipment?
This is determined by the dealer on a case-by-case basis. New appliances come with a manufacturer’s warranty; for second-hand appliances, enquire about inspection, cleaning and warranty cover. The purchase and payment are handled directly between you and the seller.
