View on GoogleBuy second-hand aerial work platforms – Genie, Haulotte, JLG, Skyjack, Sinoboom, Magni – directly from specialist dealers. Aerial work platforms safely lift fitters, painters, electricians and façade workers to working heights of 8 to 20 metres – whether as electric scissor lifts indoors, diesel articulated telescopic boom lifts on building sites or tracked platforms off-road. We stock used aerial work platforms from Bontebok in the Netherlands, Zoch in Aidenbach and Kraus Baumaschinen – with year of manufacture, operating hours, load capacity and weight listed in the advert, many at fixed prices.
Which aerial work platform is right for your job?
Electric scissor lifts 6–12 m: JLG 3246ES/R3246, Sinoboom 1932ME, Magni ES1212E, Genie GS-1932/GS-3246, JLG Toucan (vertical mast). Quiet, emission-free, narrow (0.8–1.2 m) – for workshops, interior fit-outs, warehouses and exhibition stand construction. Working heights up to 12 m, load capacity 230–320 kg.
Diesel scissor lifts (RT) 10–20 m: Genie GS-2668/GS-3390, Skyjack SJ6832 RT/SJ9250, Liftlux SL140/SL172, Haulotte H12/H15 SX. All-wheel drive, outriggers, large platform for materials – façades, hall construction, structural work.
Articulated telescopic platforms 16–20 m: Haulotte HA16 PX/SPX/HA20 PX, Genie Z-45/25/Z-51/30, JLG 340AJ/450AJ. The all-rounder on the building site: reaches over obstacles, basket around corners, diesel all-wheel drive or electric/bi-energy.
Telescopic boom lifts 18–40 m: JLG 600 SC/660 SJ, Genie S-45/S-65, Haulotte HT23, Aichi SR18 (tracked). Maximum reach and working height for industrial applications, hall roofs and bridge construction; available as a tracked platform (HAB TR16JD, JLG 600 SC tracked) for soft ground.
Bricklaying and small platforms: Lissmac MAB 3001 bricklaying platform for structural work and bricklaying, Saphir ABB 1 as an attachment for telescopic handlers.
What we look for in used aerial work platforms
Inspection certificates: Aerial work platforms must be inspected annually by a qualified person in accordance with the German Occupational Safety and Health Regulation (BetrSichV) (DGUV Guideline 308-002). An inspection sticker, inspection log and CE declaration of conformity must be available – without these, the platform cannot be used commercially.
Lifting system: Check the scissor pack for play in the bolts and cracks in the welds; check the telescopic boom for wear on the plain bearings and the condition of the ropes; check the joints for play. Hydraulic cylinders must be leak-free; the basket must not sag under load; the emergency lowering mechanism must function correctly.
Safety features: Tilt sensor, load moment limiter/platform scale, deadman’s switch, horn, emergency stop buttons at the bottom and top – everything must be in working order; this is subject to inspection.
Drive and battery: For electric platforms, check the age and capacity of the traction battery (have the state of charge displayed following a load test); the charger must be included in the scope of delivery. For diesel platforms, check cold start, smoke emissions, emission standard, four-wheel drive and axle articulation.
Tyres, basket, controls: Solid rubber or foam tyres with no tears, basket free from deformation, control panel legible, control levers responsive. Operating hours are often low on aerial work platforms – age and service life are more important.

Frequently asked questions about used aerial work platforms
How much does a used aerial work platform cost?
Second-hand electric scissor lifts start in the mid four-figure range; 16-metre articulated telescopic platforms that are 10–15 years old are in the low to mid five-figure range, with telescopic platforms above that. Factors affecting the price include working height, year of manufacture, drive type, the condition of the battery or motor, and the inspection history.
Scissor lift or articulated telescopic boom lift?
Choose a scissor lift if you need to lift vertically and require space for materials and two people. Choose an articulated telescopic boom lift if you need to reach over obstacles, machinery or protrusions and only one person with tools needs to be lifted.
What inspections does an aerial work platform require?
An annual inspection by a qualified person in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations (inspection sticker, inspection log) and CE marking with a declaration of conformity. Operators require training in accordance with DGUV Guideline 308-008 and a written authorisation.
How many operating hours are still acceptable for a platform?
Platforms are not used very often – 1,000 to 3,000 hours over ten years is normal, as they spend a lot of time stationary. More important factors are age, service life, corrosion, the condition of the battery and motor, and the condition of the safety systems.
How do I transport a work platform?
Electric scissor lifts up to 3 t on a tandem trailer or small low-loader; diesel aerial work platforms from 5 t on a low-loader with ramps. Pay attention to the weight, length with the boom extended and lashing points – all this information is in the advert.
Can I lease a work platform or finance it via hire purchase?
For many listings, you can submit a no-obligation leasing or hire-purchase enquiry directly. You can clarify the terms with the dealer or their finance partner; the purchase and payment are handled directly between you and the seller.
