Buy new and used Krampe tippers and trailers – a wide selection of skip loaders, earthmoving tippers and push-off trailers direct from specialist dealers. Krampe manufactures agricultural trailers for tractor-trailer combinations: tippers such as the BigBody series tipper trailers, two-way and three-way tippers, half-pipe earthmoving tippers, as well as trailers such as push-off trailers, forage transport trailers and hook-lift trailers – each listing includes the year of manufacture, gross vehicle weight, volume and specifications. Offered by Mecklenburger Landtechnik in Gülzow-Prüzen; the stock changes regularly. Important to note: Krampe vehicles are tractor-drawn trailers, not lorry tipper bodies.
Krampe at a glance
Krampe Fahrzeugbau is a family-run business based in Coesfeld in the western Münsterland region. Its roots lie in a village smithy in Coesfeld-Lette, founded by August Krampe in 1918; Ernst Krampe took over in 1968. In 1981, the first trailer was built – still using old lorry parts – and in 1982 the first tipper trailers with mechanically operated tailgates followed. In 1983, August Krampe took over his parents’ smithy, which at the time had around four employees. In 1992, Krampe built its first hook-lift trailers; in 2000, the first sand and gravel tippers and the ‘half-pipe’ semi-circular tipper body for tractor-trailer combinations, of which more than 3,000 units had been sold by 2025. In 2003, Krampe unveiled the BigBody tipper range at Agritechnica.
In 2009, the factory moved to the site of the former barracks in Coesfeld-Flamschen, covering just under 100,000 m². Today, Krampe employs more than 250 people, builds over 1,200 vehicles a year, has a turnover of around 59 million euros and supplies 38 countries. Robin Krampe is the fourth-generation managing director and has been sole director since 2023.

What the Krampe model designation reveals
The name first indicates the body type: BigBody and ProBody are tipper trailers, FlexBody is a three-way tipper, RamBody is a push-off trailer, Radium is a forage transport trailer, SK (Sand & Gravel), HD (Heavy Duty) and HP (Halfpipe) are earthmoving tippers, and THL and SHL are hook-lift trailers. For BigBody, RamBody, SK and HD, the three-digit number indicates the size: The higher the number, the larger the tipper body and the greater the gross vehicle weight – a BigBody 460 is approved for 16 tonnes, a BigBody 750 for 24 tonnes, and a BigBody 900 for 31 or 34 tonnes. The suffix ‘S’ denotes a two-way tipper for the BigBody, whilst for the Radium it denotes the version with metering rollers (P denotes without). ‘Carrier’ refers to pre-configured standard vehicles with fixed equipment and a top speed of 40 km/h. For the FlexBody, ‘EDK’ stands for the single-axle version, ‘TDK’ for the tandem version and ‘ZDK’ for the two-axle version; the number following it indicates the gross vehicle weight in tonnes.
| Model | Specifications | Typical application |

What we look for in a second-hand Krampe
Body and steel structure: Check the body, frame and tipping bearings for dents, cracks and welds; check the tailgate for leaks. On earth-moving tippers, inspect the body floor particularly thoroughly, as stones and rubble put the greatest strain on it.
Hydraulics: Check the tipping cylinders, hoses and connections for leaks; on the RamBody, check the push wall; on the Radium, check the unloading mechanism and metering rollers for smooth operation.
Chassis and brakes: Check the axles, wheel bearings, suspension, tyres and the braking system. The axle configuration determines the permissible gross vehicle weight – compare the details in the advert with those in the vehicle documents.
Documents and equipment: Check the registration certificate, MOT certificate and chassis number. A hydraulic tailgate, attachments, cover and tyre size significantly affect the value.

Frequently asked questions about Krampe
What does ‘Carrier’ mean at Krampe?
Carrier vehicles are pre-configured standard models with fixed, popular specifications and a top speed of 40 km/h due to their design. They are available as BigBody, Heavy Duty HD, Halfpipe HP, FlexBody and hook-lift THL. Standardisation improves availability and offers better value for money compared to bespoke builds.
What is a Krampe BigBody S?
The ‘S’ in BigBody denotes a two-way tipper: the body can tip both backwards and to the side. This helps when unloading at field edges or in tight farmyards.
How do the BigBody, Halfpipe, SK and HD differ?
BigBody models are large-capacity tippers for crops and bulk materials. SK (Sand & Gravel) and HD (Heavy Duty) are earthmoving tippers with a flat tipper bed; the HD version is more robust for use on building sites. The Halfpipe has a semi-circular body in which the load slides towards the centre and does not get stuck when tipping.
Which Krampe models are most commonly traded on the second-hand market?
On the major second-hand marketplaces, these are primarily BigBody tippers ranging from 650 to 800, often used as carriers, as well as FlexBody three-way tippers such as the ZDK 18-500 and TDK 18-500. Earthmoving tippers such as the Halfpipe HP 20 are offered less frequently.
What is the gross vehicle weight of Krampe tippers?
The BigBody range extends from 16 t (BigBody 460) through 24 t (BigBody 700 to 790) to 31 or 34 t (BigBody 800 to 980), all with a top speed of 40 km/h on public roads. The transport volume ranges from 15.7 to 54.4 m³, depending on the body type.
When is a push-off lorry a better option than a tipper?
The RamBody unloads horizontally using a push wall, without lifting the body. This is advantageous under low ceilings and on uneven terrain, and allows for controlled unloading, for example at a silo.
Where are Krampe trailers manufactured?
In Coesfeld in the Münsterland region; since 2009, the factory has been located on the site of a former barracks in Coesfeld-Flamschen. Krampe is a family-run business, now in its fourth generation under the leadership of Robin Krampe.
Can I lease a Krampe tipper or finance it through a hire-purchase scheme?
For many listings – both new and used – you can submit a no-obligation leasing or hire-purchase enquiry directly. You can discuss the terms with the dealer or their finance partner; the purchase and payment are handled directly between you and the seller.
