Buy new and second-hand construction compressors – Atlas Copco, Kaeser Mobilair, CompAir, Doosan, Ingersoll Rand, directly from specialist dealers. The mobile construction compressor supplies compressed air for demolition hammers, earth augers, sandblasting, cable blowing, shotcrete and drilling rigs. We offer a large, constantly changing stock of construction compressors – from Kraus Baumaschinen in Frankenthal and GSK Baumaschinen in Hanhofen, with working pressure, air flow rate, year of manufacture and operating hours listed in the advertisement. And with filters you won’t find anywhere else: by pressure and air flow rate.

Which construction compressor is right for your job?

7 bar, 1 to 5 m³/min – the all-rounder: Kaeser M13/M17/M31, Atlas Copco XAS 58–XAS 88, CompAir C76. For one or two demolition hammers, earth augers, hammer drills, and cleaning. Under 750 kg, can be towed by a car. View compressors in this class

10 to 14 bar, 3 to 6 m³/min – blowing and domestic connections: Kaeser M59 PE (14 bar), Atlas Copco XATS 138 (10.3 bar), CompAir C95-12/C115-12. For cable and fibre-optic blowing, pipe cleaning, pressure testing. View compressors 10–14 bar

7 to 12 bar, 8 to 12 m³/min – high air volumes: Atlas Copco XAS 188-14, XAHS 107, Kaeser M122/M125, CompAir C115. Sandblasting and dry ice blasting, multiple hammers operating simultaneously, shotcrete. With aftercooler and water separator for dry air. View compressors 8–12 m³/min

12 to 35 bar, 12 to 40 m³/min – high pressure for drilling: Atlas Copco XRVS 346/976, XRHS 385, XAVS 378, Ingersoll Rand XHP 900, Kaeser M250/M350. Well drilling, geothermal drilling and blasting, long injection distances. View high-pressure compressors

Electric: Atlas Copco E-Air H250/H450 VSD – for city centres, indoor workspaces and zero-emission construction sites with access to mains power.

We explain in detail which class is suitable for which application in our guide ‘Choosing the Right Construction Compressor: Pressure, Air Flow and the Right Machine’; for drillers, there’s ‘Geothermal: Choosing the Right Compressor for the Drilling Depth’.

What to look for in a second-hand construction compressor

Operating hours and maintenance: screw compressors can run for 20,000 hours or more if the oil, filters and separator have been changed according to the schedule. Replacing the separator (every 2,000–3,000 hours) is the most expensive routine maintenance item – ask when it was last replaced.

Compressor stage and oil: oil level and condition (milky = water), oil consumption, oil discharge in the air (oil mist on the valves indicates a worn-out separator). The compressor must maintain the rated pressure when idling and regulate it smoothly under load.

Engine and emission standard: Cold start, exhaust smoke, clean radiator. Since 2019, new machines have been subject to Stage V with a particulate filter; older Stage IIIA compressors are cheaper, but are not permitted to operate on every construction site.

Chassis and documentation: Trailer chassis with overrun brake (braked from 750 kg), lighting, roadworthiness certificate; CE marking, declaration of conformity, pressure vessel inspection (BetrSichV), service log.

Brands and dealers

Atlas Copco and Kaeser share the German market; CompAir, Doosan (formerly Ingersoll Rand Portable), Demag and Sullair are the established alternatives with a reliable supply of spare parts. Our dealers: Kraus Baumaschinen in Frankenthal (authorised Atlas Copco and Kaeser dealer, new and used machines from 1 to 40 m³/min) and GSK Baumaschinen in Hanhofen (new Kaeser Mobilair M13–M125, Atlas Copco XAS 188–14, complete packages including dry ice blasting units). Filter by working pressure, flow rate, manufacturer, year of manufacture and operating hours.

Frequently asked questions about second-hand construction compressors

How much bar and m³/min do I need?

The pressure depends on the tool (demolition hammer 7 bar, air injection 10–14 bar, drilling 20–35 bar), whilst the air flow rate depends on the number and size of the consumers: a demolition hammer requires 1.5–2.5 m³/min, whilst an 8 mm sandblasting nozzle requires around 8 m³/min. Add up the total demand and allow for a 10–15 per cent reserve.

How much does a second-hand construction compressor cost?

Small 7-bar compressors are available second-hand from low four-figure sums; 10-m³ machines are in the mid five-figure range, whilst high-pressure drilling compressors are significantly higher. Factors driving the price include flow rate, pressure, year of manufacture, operating hours and emission standard.

How many operating hours are still acceptable for a compressor?

Provided there is evidence of proper maintenance, 10,000 hours is no problem; screw-type compressors can last 20,000 hours or more. The key factors are separator replacement, oil condition and whether the compressor maintains the rated pressure consistently.

Do I need oiled or oil-free compressed air?

Demolition hammers and drills require oiled air. Sandblasting, dry ice blasting, cable blowing and painting require dry, oil-free air – aftercoolers, water separators and filters are available as options for this (Kaeser ‘G’/‘PE’, Atlas Copco ‘Aftercooler’).

Which compressor is suitable for dry ice blasting?

Depending on the equipment, 3 to 7 m³/min at 5 to 10 bar with dry air: Kaeser M17 for small blasting units, Atlas Copco XATS 138 or XAS 188-14 for professional units. You can find suitable combinations under ‘Dry ice blasting machines’.

Can I tow the compressor behind a car?

Up to 750 kg unbraked with a Category B licence; braked compressors up to 3.5 t with a Category B (up to 3.5 t gross combination weight) or BE licence. The compressor must have a chassis, lighting and a valid type approval – the weight is stated in the advert.

Can I lease a construction compressor or finance it via hire purchase?

For many listings, you can submit a no-obligation leasing or hire-purchase enquiry directly. You can discuss the terms with the dealer or their financing partner; the purchase and payment are handled directly between you and the seller.
